Island Expansion and Prestige

Land plots, bumpkin gates, resource nodes, and when to push the next expansion or prestige island.

Your island grows one expansion at a time. Each new plot costs coins, resources, time, and a minimum bumpkin level. Expansions add tillable soil, trees, stones, iron, fruit patches, and later specialty nodes. Planning the sequence saves weeks of idle bumpkin XP.

Reading an expansion row

Open Expansion info in Manager. Each row shows:

  • Bumpkin level required before you can start
  • Resource cost (wood, stone, iron, etc.) with live P2P equivalents
  • Timer to clear rubble and unlock plots
  • Nodes spawned — critical for long-term income
Manager tip: Sort by prestige and compare total resources per coin before following generic guides. Your skill build changes which nodes matter.

Basic island → specialty islands

Early expansions on the Basic Island teach the core loop. Later prestige unlocks themed islands (Desert, Volcano, etc.) with unique crops, buildings, and mechanics. You do not need every prestige immediately — unlock the island that matches your delivery and cooking goals (Cooking info).

Decision Lean toward…
Need bumpkin XP fast Expansions with fruit + kitchen access
Need iron and wood Node-heavy plots before cosmetic ones
Seasonal chapter focus Expansions that unlock event buildings first

Bumpkin level gates

If the expand button is greyed out, you are missing level, not resources. Cook and eat meals for XP (Bumpkin XP). It is faster to pause expansion spending and run a cooking sprint than to farm low-XP crops for days.

Steps when stuck behind a level wall:

  1. List recipes you can craft today on Cooking info.
  2. Sort by XP per day given your kitchen buffs.
  3. Feed meals until the next gate — save delivery foods only if orders pay better than the XP delay.

Resource planning

Expansions spike Wood, Stone, and Iron demand — and you will burn through Axes/Pickaxes shop stock (Shop stock). Before starting a timer:

  • Fill storage headroom for incoming mine yields.
  • Pre-craft tools so you can clear nodes the day the plot opens.
  • Check Deliveries info — sometimes selling delivery rewards funds the expansion faster than hoarding.

Timers and boosts

Clearing land takes real time. Gems can speed; skills and wearables reduce craft and gather time elsewhere so you still feel productive while rubble clears. See Skills guide for gather branches.

Prestige timing

Prestige resets some layout constraints while opening new upgrade tracks. Push prestige when:

  • You hit basic-island node saturation (plots fully used).
  • Your loop needs island-specific crops or buildings.
  • Chapter goals explicitly reward the next island (Chapter race).

Delay prestige if bumpkin level, stock, or coin flow cannot support the new island's recipes yet (Beginner path).

Layout and moving costs

Moving buildings costs coins and sometimes resources. Sketch layout before placing permanent structures — barns, kitchens, and beehives are painful to shuffle. Manager's expansion map mirrors official data; use it to count max nodes before committing.

Multi-farm and marketplace note

Buying a larger farm on P2P skips early expansions but not skill or bumpkin requirements for later plots. Inspect any purchase on home land search and verify expansion count matches listing claims.
