Pets — Eggs, Feeding, and Requests
Hatching pet eggs, daily feeding schedules, nap states, and using Manager's pet feed calculator.
Pets are long-term companions hatched from Pet Eggs. They provide requests, boosts, and light automation when fed and happy. Neglected pets nap or become neglected, reducing benefits until you restore routine.
Hatching and slots
Acquire eggs through gameplay, events, or marketplace trades. Hatching consumes time and sometimes resources. Each active pet adds a daily feeding obligation — treat pets as a commitment, not a one-time collectible (Marketplace if buying eggs with FLOWER).
Manager documents pet systems on Pets info and offers a Pet feed calc to estimate food quantities before you scale to multiple pets.
Rule: Do not hatch a second pet until the first pet's feed loop is boringly stable for two weeks.
Feeding loop
Pets eat crafted or gathered foods on a schedule. Feeding keeps them Awake and progressing requests. Missing feeds pushes states toward Napping and Neglected — visible on land profiles when Manager syncs pet state from farm data.
Steps each login:
- Open the pet panel in-game and note requested foods.
- Verify ingredients are not stock-capped (Stock limits).
- Feed before spending those ingredients on low-value stall sales.
- Complete pet requests when they offer boosts or items worth your surplus.
Pet feed calculator
The Pet feed calc tool translates pet count + diet into ingredient demand. Use it when:
- Planning kitchen batches shared with bumpkin XP (Cooking XP)
- Deciding if pet boosts beat opportunity cost of the same meals as deliveries (Deliveries info)
- Budgeting animal produce (Animals guide)
Enter conservative numbers first — real play includes missed days.
Requests and rewards
Pets periodically ask for items or activities. Rewards may include consumables, cosmetics, or progression currency depending on patch season. Prioritize requests that:
- Align with goods you mass-produce anyway
- Pay chapter or faction progress during events (Chapter race, Factions)
- Unlock mechanics referenced in Quests info
Skip requests forcing exotic P2P buys unless profit clears P2P calc.
Multi-pet management
| Pets | Suggested habit |
|---|---|
| 1 | Feed at same time as crop harvest |
| 2+ | Spread feeds across login windows; use calc totals |
| Many | Dedicated "pet day" kitchen batch; avoid new eggs |
Land search on home shows pet state labels when cached — handy for auditing alts or purchases.
Pets vs other systems
Pets compete for kitchen output with bumpkin XP and delivery meals. Order of priority for most players:
- Bumpkin level gates (Bumpkin XP)
- High-value deliveries during events (Seasons calendar)
- Pet feeding and requests
- Marketplace flipping (Trade)
Adjust if pet boosts materially speed your main loop — simulate before reshuffling priorities.
Marketplace and eggs
Eggs and pet items trade on P2P. Verify seller farm and item authenticity; pet progress is account-bound after hatch. Read fee structure in Marketplace guide before speculative egg flips.
State reference
Manager land views label pet mood when data is available:
| State | Meaning | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Awake | Fed and active | Complete requests if profitable |
| Napping | Missed feed window | Feed on next login |
| Neglected | Extended neglect | Restore feed chain before hatching more pets |
Treat Napping as a warning, not cosmetic — benefits drop until you stabilize timing.
Long-term pet ROI
Pets pay off when their requests and passive perks accelerate your main loop — not when they duplicate delivery work at lower margins. Quarterly review: disable or avoid new eggs if Pet feed calc shows feed competing with chapter ticket goals (Chapter race).
Next step
Wire pet food into Deliveries & chores planning, or study Factions if pets tie to seasonal team goals.
