Getting Started with Sunflower Land

Create your account, connect a wallet, meet Pete, and understand how farm NFTs move between players.

Sunflower Land is a blockchain farming game on Base. Your progress lives on a farm NFT tied to a wallet address. SFL Manager is a companion site — it reads public game data so you can search farms, compare costs, and plan upgrades without opening every menu in-game.

What you need before day one

You do not need crypto to try the tutorial, but long-term play requires a wallet and a small amount of Base ETH for gas. Most players use MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, or Rabby. Install the extension or mobile app, create a wallet, and write down your seed phrase offline. Never share it with anyone claiming to be support.

Manager tip: Bookmark SFL Manager home and search by farm ID, username, or NFT number. The land page shows inventory, bumpkin level, deliveries, and stock at a glance.

Creating your farm

  1. Visit the official Sunflower Land site and choose Create Account or Sign In.
  2. Connect your wallet when prompted. The game mints or links a farm NFT to that address.
  3. Complete the onboarding island: plant sunflowers, craft tools, and talk to Pumpkin Pete.
  4. Finish Pete's early quests before rushing expansion — they teach stock limits, crafting, and delivery basics.

Pumpkin Pete is your quest log anchor for the first hours. His tasks reward coins, experience, and items that unlock core buildings. Check live quest data on Quests info when you forget the next step.

Wallet vs farm NFT

Piece What it is What happens if you lose access
Wallet Holds keys and signs transactions You cannot play or transfer without it
Farm NFT On-chain record of your island Tied to whichever wallet currently owns it
In-game username Display name on profiles Cosmetic; search still works by farm ID

Your farm ID (a number like #12345) is how Manager indexes you. Usernames can change; the ID cannot.

Transferring or buying a farm

Selling or gifting a farm means transferring the NFT, not just sharing a login. The buyer's wallet receives full ownership — land, inventory, bumpkin XP, and buildings move with the token.

Before you buy on secondary markets:

  • Verify the contract and token ID match official Sunflower Land collections.
  • Open the farm in Manager land search and inspect level, expansions, and stockpiles.
  • Remember that worn wearables, timed boosts, and some seasonal items may differ from listing screenshots.
Safety: Never approve open-ended token permissions to unknown sites. Use official marketplaces and double-check URLs.

First-week checklist

  • Link wallet and back up seed phrase.
  • Finish Pete's intro quests (Quests info).
  • Learn stock limits so you do not cap resources silently.
  • Expand once you understand tool crafting and delivery rewards.
  • Skim Beginner path for a structured early-to-mid game route.

Common mistakes

Creating a second wallet accidentally. If you connect a fresh wallet instead of your original, you start a new empty farm. Always confirm the address in your wallet app matches the one that owns your NFT.

Ignoring gas on Base. Transactions are cheap compared to Ethereum mainnet, but you still need ETH for crafting, expansions, and marketplace trades.

Skipping the tutorial NPCs. Deliveries, cooking, and skills all unlock through natural progression. Rushing past Pete often means redoing work later.

Install SFL Manager early

As soon as the farm loads in the browser, install the extension: harvest timers, alerts, and a side panel while you play. For prices, recipes, and land search, use the site map.

Tip: Pin the extension icon and keep the game tab open — otherwise timers stay empty.

Next step

Continue to Beginner path for a phased plan from first crops through mid-game cooking and fishing, or open Expansion info once you are ready to grow the island. If the extension is not set up yet, start with Extension guide.
